Driver's Education

Learning to drive is a significant milestone, especially for young or inexperienced drivers. To ensure they acquire safe driving techniques and meet the requirements for a Class D license, Wiregrass provides a program that aligns with Joshua’s Law.

Our program, in cooperation with the Georgia Driver’s Education Commission (GDEC) and approved by the DDS, offers a convenient option for teenagers aged 15 to 17 holding a Learner's Permit. It includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and an additional 6 hours of drive time with a certified instructor. Moreover, successful completion of the program often qualifies participants for a reduction (approximately 10%) on their insurance premiums.

Please note that participants are required to attend all class dates for the specified class periods and complete the full six (6) hours of behind-the-wheel driving.

The cost of this invaluable course is $350, and for those in need, a limited number of scholarships are available through the Georgia Driver's Education Commission. As class sizes are limited, we recommend early registration to secure your spot. Make the journey to becoming a responsible and confident driver with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College.
