History

Caroline is a Bengal tiger who had previously resided in Missouri with fellow Safe Haven resident, Christopher, who sadly passed away in January 2020 from renal failure.

Their private owner had purchased both tigers for $25,000. Caroline was bred on separate occasions by the breeder, who profited from the sale of her cubs.

Although Christopher and Caroline had never lived in the same enclosure, they had resided next to each other and had always been close companions. Caroline was 10 years old when her owner, then in his early 70s, came to the realization that he could no longer care for his cats properly. He acted responsibly and sought help finding a sanctuary that would accept his two big cats.
