Alimony

Depending on the circumstances of your marital relationship, several types of alimony options are available to spouses, including temporary alimony, rehabilitative alimony, and permanent alimony. One spouse pays alimony/spousal support to the other spouse.

Temporary Maintenance Alimony is the support that may be awarded to one spouse during the divorce proceedings. The Court may also make an award of alimony which occurs after the divorce proceedings, including temporary alimony (an amount for a determinative period of time with a termination date); permanent alimony (an amount for an indeterminate period of time and only possible termination events); and rehabilitative alimony (support to permit a spouse to obtain job training or education.

The courts look at each of these types of alimony differently. Goulet Law handles matters related to both payor and payee spouses. Please contact Goulet Law today to schedule a free consultation to discuss your alimony options.
