Planning international travel? Make sure your passport is up to date well in advance. Standard processing takes 8–11 weeks, while expedited service takes about 5–7 weeks. For faster delivery, you can pay for expedited processing and priority shipping. We strongly recommend applying early and waiting to book your travel until your passport arrives. If your application is delayed beyond normal processing times or you need an emergency passport for urgent travel, my office may be able to help. To get started, please complete the Digital Privacy Act Release form and include your travel date, application locator number, and proof of travel. Without this form, we cannot contact the Department of State on your behalf.
